Abstract: This study explores the multifaceted role of soft power in contemporary international politics, focusing on its applications, opportunities, and challenges. The study used a qualitative narrative approach grounded in secondary data including academic literature, policy documents, and media analyses. The research examines how the major state actors such as the United States, China, and the European Union deploy soft power to shape global perceptions and influence international relations. The findings highlight soft power’s strategic value in enhancing cooperation, promoting national values, fostering mutual understanding, and providing a cost-effective alternative to coercion. The study also identifies the challenges of soft power, such as issues of credibility, cultural resistance, delayed impact, and risks of manipulation. Ultimately, this research underscores the importance of authenticity, consistency, and cultural sensitivity in effectively leveraging soft power in an increasingly complex and multipolar world. The study contributes to the broader discourse on non-coercive power dynamics and offers insights for policymakers and scholars interested in global diplomacy and international influence.
